June 1, 2016

Project still in production in Wilmington Region, will premiere July 18

RALEIGH - HISTORY, part of A+E Networks, has released the first look at the currently North Carolina filming series Six.

The new television series, set to premiere July 18 and produced in conjunction with The Weinstein Company, is an 8-episode contemporary military drama that follows members of an exceptional US Navy combat SEAL in present day as they operate daring missions in global hotspots while trying to maintain their own fragile personal lives. The production will base out of Wilmington and has been extended a grant amount of $7,215,671.

Six was selected to receive a rebate of $7.2 million as part of the North Carolina Film and Entertainment Grant Fund. The series is expected to have a direct in-state spend in excess of $28 million and offer more than 1,600 job opportunities. Principal photography on the series, which began in March, is expected to continue until mid-July.

Six is one of four television series currently filming in the state, joining Good Behavior (also in the Wilmington Region), Shots Fired (Charlotte Region), and Love It or List It (Research Triangle Region) as well as two feature-length film productions, Dirty Dancing and Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri (both in the Western Region).
