RALEIGH - N.C. Commerce Secretary John E. Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced two productions will receive funds from the North Carolina Film and Entertainment Grant program. Each recipient will begin production within the next 60 days.

TV series present the chance to establish long term relationships and recurring jobs in our state, said Secretary Skvarla. I look forward to watching our states fine talent and natural beauty when each of these productions airs on television.

Good Behavior and Six will both film their inaugural seasons in North Carolina. The two projects combined are expected to have direct in-state spending of more than $57 million while creating approximately 2,900 job opportunities in the state.

"Good Behavior" is a seductive thriller based on the Letty Dobesh books by Blake Crouch. The series stars Michelle Dockery ("Downton Abbey"), along with Juan Diego Botto ("Ismael", "El Greco"), Terry Kinney ("Oz", "Show Me a Hero") and Lusia Strus ("Wayward Pines", "Cotton").

"Good Behavior" tells the story of Letty Dobesh (Dockery), a thief and con artist whose life is always one wrong turn, or one bad decision from implosion which is exactly how she likes it. Fresh out of prison, Letty tries to stay afloat; reunite with her 10-year-old son, who is currently being raised by her mother Estelle (Strus); and regularly see her substance-abuse counselor, Christian (Kinney), whose motives for helping her are questionable. Chaos returns to Letty's life when she overhears a hitman (Botto) being hired to kill a man's wife, and sets out to derail the job. She soon finds herself on a collision course with the killer, entangling both of them in a dangerously captivating relationship.

TNT's "Good Behavior" is being executive-produced by writer/showrunner Chad Hodge ("Wayward Pines", "The Playboy Club") and author Blake Crouch ("Wayward Pines"), along with executive producers Marty Adelstein ("Aquarius", "Prison Break", "Teen Wolf") and Becky Clements ("Aquarius", "Last Man Standing") of Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein.

The pilot for the series was directed by Charlotte Sieling and shot in late 2015 in North Carolina. The production is eligible for a grant amount of up to $6,603,003.

"Six", from A+E Studios, Harvey Weinstein, The Weinstein Company and Academy Award nominee William Broyles, is an eight episode contemporary military drama that will air on HISTORY. Inspired by current events, the series follows a brotherhood of modern American warriors, Navy SEAL Team Six, the best of the best, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. The production will also base out of Wilmington. The eligible grant amount is up to $7,215,671.

These projects will continue a long tradition of excellence in filmmaking in our state.

The North Carolina Film and Entertainment Grant provides financial assistance to attract productions that will stimulate economic activity and create jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet direct in-state spending requirements to qualify for grant funds.
