NC screenwriter Daniel Wallace makes virtual visit to Irish classroom
May 19, 2008

Lisburn, Ireland pupils got the chance to work with award-winning author and scriptwriter Daniel Wallace.

Whilst the lives and careers of those in Hollywood keep millions of people around the world intrigued daily, the local Moving Image Arts A Level students had the unique opportunity to work with Daniel via a video conference direct from North Carolina.

Daniel, whose work includes the Tim Burton film 'Big Fish', gave the pupils tips on writing for films, as well as some exclusive details of life on a film set.

Head of Moving image Arts, David Cleland explained, "This amazing opportunity was made possible by the wonders of Apple's iChat application.

"From our classroom in Lisburn we were able to enjoy an interactive workshop with Daniel in North Carolina. The full screen digital link up was the first time we have done something of this magnitude and I'm happy to say it was a great success."
