US Whitewater Center To Host Winter Film Festival

CHARLOTTE - The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) will host the 1st annual Winter Film Festival on Saturday, November 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. The festival will feature two high-adrenaline ski films, The Ski Channel's The Story and The Way I See It from Matchstick Productions.
The Story features American ski racing icons Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn, big mountain legend Chris Davenport and X-Games champions Reggie and Zack Crist. Viewers will get to dive into the lives of famous skiers and obscure ski bums as well as peer into the tops of Mt. Everest and never-before-skied steeps in Alaska.
Filmed around the world using high definition cinematography, The Way I See It documents Bobby Browns emergence as the single-most dominating park skier in the world and the 2009 Powder Awards male skier of the year, Sean Pettit. Film highlights include epic powder skiing in northern Japan, Alaskas Chugach Range and the Coast Mountains of British Columbia before culminating at Alyeska Resort with one of the largest park features ever built.
Tickets for the Winter Film Festival are now and are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the U.S. National Whitewater Center Ticket Office and on the center's web site.
The U.S. National Whitewater Center, an official U.S. Olympic training site, is a non-profit outdoor recreation and adventure sports facility with mountain biking and running trails, climbing center, mega zip line, mega jump, and challenge course. The parks unique feature is a multiple-channel, customized whitewater river for rafting and canoe/kayak enthusiasts of all abilities. The USNWC is located on 400 acres of woodlands along the Catawba River, 15 minutes from uptown Charlotte.
